Secret to smooth skin from a Personal Trainer

Everyone knows exercising regularly is important for staying healthy and keeping your skin clear.  But for most it’s a struggle especially from the neck down.  To keep my body smooth through the seasons, I exfoliate regularly.   I like to use exfoliates that combine coffee, as coffee is loaded with antioxidants and protects the skin and keeps it youthful.  I’ve been using the Body Exfoliate by Mullein & Sparrow on BoroughMakers.com and I can’t say enough good things about it.  I use it 2-3 times a week.  It keeps my skin smooth, moist and glowing.  The first time I used it, I knew it was a keeper.  My skin was left baby soft with a fresher complexion because of the shea butter and the essential oils in this product.  It doesn’t contain large beads and I found it gentle on my combination skin type.  Try it out for yourself and you will agree that it really works!

Here are my steps:

Apply exfoliator to wet skin

Before applying the Body Exfoliate, get your skin wet.  This will allow all the ingredients to suds up for a while and will help make your body super soft.  I like to exfoliate my skin in the shower since it’s easier to wash off when I’m done.

Apply the Body Exfoliate

Start applying the exfoliator in small circular motions to ensure that you do not miss any spot.  This way, it will feel like a mini massage, which incredibly is beneficial for your face and body.  Begin with your working your way down your body, taking care to get every nook and cranny, including the backs of the knees and the insides of the elbows the back of your arms (triceps).  On larger body parts you can widen your circles and use smaller ones on ears such as the soles of your feet and face.

Pay attention to the areas you exfoliate

When exfoliating, make sure you are very gentle on sensitive areas of the skin, such as the bikini area, neck and face.  These area have thinner skin, so it’s essential; to use gentle motions.  Apply more pressure on your knees, elbows and feet where the skin is naturally thicker.

Use a loofah

In case you have a tough skin, try using a loofah with the exfoliator for the best results.  Although a loofah looks similar to a sponge, it has a rough texture that doesn’t soften when it’s wet.  You can buy a loofah at most drugstores.
